Searching For Christ
There are a number of reasons why people may be searching for Christ. Whether that be:
- Looking to make sense of a situation you are facing or are currently in;
- Needing to get your life back on track with a real meaning and purpose;
- A deep desire in your heart to get closer to God;
Where you are now, whether that be emotionally, mentally and/or physically, does not determine your future path, it merely defines your starting point in your journey of “Searching for Christ”. Taking the Spiritual Assessment will help you find exactly where you are and chart a path for you to be where He wants us to be.
Spiritual growth, is not measured by the number of years at each age group, but how our faith increases as we spend more time and effort getting to know the One who saved us.
The Disciples spent every day with Christ for three years expanding their faith, so that the flame would be fanned to Spread The Word from generation to generation, eventually to you and me.
Imagine quitting you job, leaving your home to follow someone who traveled and moved from place to place for three years. Why would twelve men do that? It’s crazy, right?
We don’t have to quit our job, leave our home or loved ones; it is a matter of making a commitment to spend time to understand what God’s message is for us. That message is in God’s Word as written in the Bible.
On your spiritual journey, we will find out what God’s great plan is for each one of us! But, before we get started, let’s take a few minutes to think and write down your own ‘why’ you want to do this.
There Are 4 Stages Of Spiritual Growth:
1. Spiritual Infancy (Babes)
2. Spiritual Childhood (Children)
3. Spiritual Youth (Young Men)
4. Spiritual Youth (Young Men)
1. Spiritual Infancy or Babes:
Laying a solid foundation of understanding the basic truths necessary to build lives for Christ. If we have an adequate foundation of truth practiced in our lives, we can build upon it and grow.
You can experience growth and maturity in Christ by carefully observing Scriptural truths and applying them to your life. This is how God communicates to us, through His written Word in the Bible.
The greatest joy awaits you and all those who apply the blessed truths of Christ’s Words in Scripture.
NKJV: 1 Peter 2:2, “as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,”
NKJV: Hebrews 5:12-13, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.”
NKJV: 1 Corinthians 3:1-2, “And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able.”

2. Spiritual Childhood or Children:

There are seven areas of Spiritual Growth you will experience during this stage that will allow you to live life more abundantly:
There are 4 steps to flourishing in growth and now, bearing fruit for Christ:
1. Flourishing – How to grow and know the Will of God
2. Filling – How to be Spiritual and Holy.
3. Fellowship – How to pray and worship.
4. Fighting – Spiritual warfare and how to win.
5. Financing – Stewardship.
6. Following – How to live and walk in His Word.
7. Faithfulness – How to serve and how to build.
Christ challenged people to “Follow Him”. Are you ready for this challenge?
NKJV: 1 John 2:12-13, “I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake. I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.”
NKJV: 1 Corinthians 14:20, “Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.
3. Young Men or Spiritual Youth:
NKJV: 1 John 2:13-14, “I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one”
4. Full Age or Fathers:
NKJV: Hebrews 5:14, “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
NKJV: 1 John2:13-14, <see above>
NKJV: Ephesians 4:13, “till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”
