Become An Active Learner

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus Christ gave his final commandment before ascending into
heaven: “…Go and make disciples”.

What is a disciple? Not just a follower! Not just an observer! Not just another student learning some “formula” for life! It requires action to learn, develop (grow), apply and eventually share – passing all of this on to others.

So, a disciple is an Active Learner with the goal of gaining deeper understanding to ultimately apply it as we walk the path of life.

An Active Learner or disciple – that’s great, but I can get all of that when I sit in church service (i.e. sermon) on Sundays! Well, possibly! But how do you verify what stage of spiritual growth you are in currently? Do you even know why spiritual growth is important?

Here’s a quick assessment. Can you biblically define the following terms and their importance in our walk?

  • Repentance
  • Redemption
  • Sanctification
  • Justification
  • Illumination
  • Satisfaction
  • Mediation
  • Atonement

Can you articulate the theme and the purpose of the Bible?
